Varistor surge suppressor for S00 contactor coils
The 3RT2916-1BE00-ZX90: This is the Siemens SIRIUS varistor-type surge suppressor for AC-operated contactor and motor-contactor coils in the S00 frame size. It clamps voltage transients when the coil de-energizes, protecting the driver output and extending contact life. Rated for AC control supply voltages of 240 to 400 V at 50 Hz, and 400 to 240 V at 60 Hz — note the reversed order at 60 Hz indicates the suppressor is polarity-insensitive but the voltage range inverts with frequency. The part handles both 50 and 60 Hz supplies without derating.
DIN-rail clip-on, 9 mm wide
Snaps onto the contactor's front side via the clip-on fastening method — no tools, no extra DIN-rail slot. The 9 mm depth keeps it flush with the S00 contactor body, so the assembly still fits tight enclosures. Mounts in any position. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage from -40 to +80 °C. The varistor's clamping voltage shifts with temperature, but within this band the suppressor stays within the coil's insulation coordination.
