Varistor surge suppressor for SIRIUS contactors
The 3RT2936-1BB00-ZX90 is a varistor-based surge suppressor from the Siemens SIRIUS family, designed to clip onto contactors in frame sizes S2 and S3. It accepts control supply voltages of 24 to 48 V AC at 50/60 Hz and 24 to 70 V DC, covering the common control voltages for industrial contactor coils in this size class. The varistor clamps voltage transients from the coil when de-energized, protecting downstream PLC outputs and reducing EMI in the panel.
Physical fit and mounting
At 14.5 mm depth, 30 mm width, and 30 mm height, this suppressor adds minimal DIN-rail footprint — it clips directly onto the contactor without consuming additional rail space. Mounting position is unrestricted, and the operating temperature range of -25 to +60°C covers typical panel environments; storage tolerance extends to -40 to +80°C.
