Integrator's note — 48 V DC coil, Size S2 frame
The Siemens 3RT5035-1BW40 is a SIRIUS Size S2 power contactor with a 48 V DC coil, rated for motor switching up to 38 kW at 400 V and 60 °C ambient. The DC coil draws 13.3 W both on pick-up and hold, so the control transformer or DC supply must be sized for continuous sealed power — no economizer circuit inside this model. Screw-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept 2x (0.75…16 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (18…2 AWG).
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, storage -55 to +80 °C, pollution degree 3.
