Switching performance and coil draw
That 5 000 1/h figure is the electrical switching rate under load — it governs how fast the contactor can cycle in a high-speed pick-and-place or conveyor indexing application. The AC-3 maximum switching rate is 800 1/h, and AC-4 (plugging / inching) is limited to 300 1/h, so if your application requires frequent reversing or jogging, you need to stay within the AC-4 ceiling. Coil power consumption at 50 Hz and 60 Hz is 0.35 VA each — a low burden on the control transformer. The coil draws 6 A at 24 V rated value, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.3 A at 220/230 V, so the control circuit sizing is straightforward: a standard 24 VDC power supply or 110 VAC control bus handles it without oversizing.
Main current circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting 2x (0.75 to 16 mm²) solid or stranded copper, or 2x (18 to 2 AWG). The minimum conductor size at 40 °C and 60 °C is 16 mm² — that is the cross-section needed to carry the rated current without exceeding the terminal temperature rise.
