What the ratings mean for fit
The 3RT5044-1AQ00: The main and auxiliary circuits both use screw-type terminals. That's a deliberate choice — screw terminals are field-serviceable, accept a wide wire range (2x 2.5 to 16 mm² solid/stranded, or 2x 10 to 1/0 AWG), and hold up to vibration better than spring-clamp in high-duty-cycle applications. The contactor mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm or 75 mm standard DIN rail, and side-by-side mounting is permitted, so you can pack several in a row without derating for heat buildup.
Deployment context
This contactor is built for a control panel — DIN-rail mounted, screw-terminated, with an auxiliary switch extension available. The operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, and storage range is -55 to +80 °C. Mounting position is flexible: +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5°. That's useful when you're retrofitting into an existing panel with non-standard rail orientation.
