SIRIUS S3 power contactor — 3RT5046-1BM40
It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm or 75 mm standard mounting rail, with ±180° rotation possible on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when panel layout forces an unconventional orientation. Rated motor power at 60 °C: 38 kW at 230 V, 66 kW at 400 V, 114 kW at 690 V. The 690 V figure (25.4 kW) is also listed separately — the 114 kW at 690 V at 60 °C is the higher thermal rating. For backup protection, the manufacturer specifies a fuse gL/gG: 160 A with type of assignment 2 required. Coil power: 15 W closing and 15 W holding at DC. Maximum switching frequency at AC-1: 900 1/h; AC-3: 850 1/h; AC-4: 250 1/h; DC: 1,000 1/h.
Panel integration — footprint and wiring
Footprint: 70 mm wide, 152 mm deep, 146 mm high. Side-by-side mounting is permitted. Main circuit terminals accept 2x (2.5…16 mm²) solid/stranded or 2x (10…1/0) AWG. Minimum permissible cross-section at 40 °C is 50 mm²; at 60 °C it drops to 35 mm² — derate the wire if the enclosure ambient runs hot. Degree of pollution 3, insulation voltage rated 1,000 V. Storage temperature range -55…+80 °C; operating range -25…+60 °C. Auxiliary switch extension is supported.
