Power contactor for motor loads up to 92 kW at 400 V
The Siemens 3RT5054-1AU36 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S6, rated for switching motor loads up to 92 kW at 400 V AC (60 °C ambient) and 159 kW at 690 V. The coil draws 240–277 V AC at 50/60 Hz, and the built-in varistor surge suppressor handles the coil's inductive kick without an external snubber. Screw terminals on the main circuit accept up to 70 mm² at 40 °C or 50 mm² at 60 °C, sized for the full rated current.
Mounting and integration
Mounts with screw fixing on a vertical surface, rotatable ±90° and tiltable ±22.5° front-to-back. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so you can gang multiple contactors on a DIN-rail panel without extra spacing. Dimensions: 172 mm high, 120 mm wide, 170 mm deep — fits standard S6 contactor footprints.
Auxiliary contacts and switching frequency
The built-in auxiliary contact block handles 6 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V — enough for PLC or relay feedback. Mechanical life is 10 million operations typical. Maximum switching frequency at AC-3 duty is 1000 cycles per hour; at AC-4 (plugging/inching) it drops to 130 cycles per hour.
