The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT5075-6AP36-0TH0 is a three-pole power contactor in the S12 frame, rated to switch 200 kW at 400 V AC under AC-3 duty (motor starting and running).
Coil and control voltage
The coil accepts 220-240 V AC or DC, so it works on a standard European control supply without needing a separate rectifier. The closing power draw hits 920 W DC, then drops to 10 W holding — that inrush spike matters if you're sizing a 24 V DC supply through a converter; the DC holding power is low enough for continuous operation.
Auxiliary contacts and wiring
Built-in auxiliary contacts: 2 NO + 2 NC instantaneous. That's enough for a standard three-wire start/stop circuit with a feedback mirror contact left over. Main terminals are bar-type connections for screw termination, accepting up to 300 mm² at 40 °C or 240 mm² at 60 °C — sized for the 430 A rated operational current at 40 °C ambient. Auxiliary terminals take 2x (0.5-1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75-2.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrules.
Mounts via screw fixing on a vertical surface, rotatable ±90° or tiltable ±22.5° front-to-back. The S12 frame is a bolt-down contactor — no DIN rail clip on this size. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, but derate for heat buildup when ganged.
Short-circuit coordination and surge suppression
For Type 2 coordination (contactor still usable after fault), 500 A gL/gG. The built-in varistor surge suppressor handles the coil's inductive kick — no external snubber needed unless you're switching the coil with a solid-state output that's sensitive to the 8 kV surge voltage rating.
