What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT6016-1AR61 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact Size S00 frame, rated to switch a 13 kW motor at 400 V in AC-3e duty. That 13 kW figure at 400 V is the one that governs the real motor load — it's not the headline maximum, it's the working rating for standard induction motors on a 400 V three-phase line. The contactor also carries a 7.5 kW rating at 230 V and a 22 kW rating at 690 V, so it scales across common European supply voltages. The 45 mm width and 73 mm depth place it in the narrow S00 footprint, which is the smallest frame in the SIRIUS contactor family. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, and side-by-side mounting is supported, so you can pack multiple contactors in a row without extra spacing.
Integration and mounting
Fastening is screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail. The mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward. The contactor operates at -25 to +60 °C ambient, with storage from -55 to +80 °C. The operating range covers most industrial panel environments, including near hot machinery. The degree of pollution is 3, meaning it's rated for conductive pollution in industrial atmospheres — no extra conformal coating needed for typical factory floor conditions.
Switching performance
Mechanical life is 30,000,000 operating cycles typical. Electrical switching frequency: up to 10,000 cycles per hour at AC general use, 1,000/h at AC-1 resistive, 750/h at AC-3 and AC-3e motor duty, and 250/h at AC-4 plugging/reversing.
