What ships in the carton
The Siemens 3RT6018-1AP02 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S00 — the smallest frame in the SIRIUS contactor family, built for motor loads up to 22 kW at 690 V. It ships as a bare contactor with screw-type terminals for the main current circuit, ready to snap onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The coil draws 6 A at 24 V rated value, 10 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 1 A at 690 V, so the control transformer and wiring need to be sized for the pick-up current. Rated insulation voltage is 690 V, and the contactor is rated for AC-3 duty up to 690 V maximum, meaning it handles standard squirrel-cage motor switching without derating at that voltage.
Panel fit and mounting
The contactor footprint is 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm high, and 73 mm deep — a compact S00 frame that fits tightly in a crowded enclosure. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail, and the mounting position is flexible: +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5° on a vertical surface. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, so you can gang multiple contactors without a gap. The operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, storage from -55 to +80 °C, and pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive contamination.
Wiring and termination
The main current circuit uses screw-type terminals. Wire sizes accepted: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), and 2x 4 mm² solid or stranded. At 40 °C the minimum permissible cross-section is 4 mm²; at 60 °C it's 2.5 mm². The mechanical life is typical 30,000,000 operations, and the maximum switching frequency at AC-1 is 1,000 1/h, at AC-3 it's 750 1/h, at AC-4 it's 250 1/h — so it's designed for frequent cycling in automated lines.
