S00 frame power contactor for motor and resistive loads
The Siemens 3RT6018-1AR62 is a SIRIUS S00-frame power contactor rated for motor switching at 7.5 kW at 230 V, 13 kW at 400 V, and 22 kW at 690 V — all at 60 °C ambient, which is the real-world panel temperature, not the ideal 40 °C lab figure. That means it handles a 22 kW motor on a 690 V line without derating in a warm enclosure. The AC-3 switching frequency maxes at 750 operations per hour, so it's sized for cyclic loads like conveyors or compressors, not continuous duty. Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, with a 45 mm width that leaves room for a three-phase feeder and an auxiliary contact block in a standard 600 mm enclosure row. Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept up to 2x 4 mm² stranded — typical for a 7.5 kW motor feed at 230 V.
Mounting and integration
The 45 mm width and 73 mm depth fit a standard 35 mm DIN rail profile. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so you can gang multiple contactors without spacing — useful for a multi-motor group in a compact panel. The mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward, giving flexibility in tight enclosures.
