SIRIUS S0 Power Contactor, 24 VDC Coil
The Siemens 3RT6027-1BB40 is a SIRIUS-brand S0-frame power contactor with a 24 VDC coil, sized for motor loads up to 27.5 kW at 400 V AC-3 (47.5 kW at 690 V AC-3). The 45 mm wide, 107 mm deep footprint fits the standard 35 mm DIN rail (DIN EN 50022) with screw and snap-on mounting, and the mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface plus ±22.5° tilt forward and backward — useful when panel layout forces an off-axis install. Rated operational voltage for AC-3 and AC-3e duty is 690 V maximum. Insulation voltage is also rated 690 V, with pollution degree 3 — meaning it handles the conductive-dust environments typical of industrial control panels without derating creepage distances.
Termination & Wiring
Both main and auxiliary/control circuits use screw-type terminals. Main contacts accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid/stranded or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), with AWG equivalents 2x (16 to 12) and 2x (14 to 8).
Mechanical & Electrical Endurance
Mechanical life is typical 10 million operations. Maximum switching rates: 1,500 cycles/hour at DC, 1,000 cycles/hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750 cycles/hour at AC-3/AC-3e (motor), and 250 cycles/hour at AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-4 rate is the limiting factor for high-duty-cycle reversing or jogging applications — if your process does frequent inching, stay under 250 cycles/hour or oversize to the next frame.
Environmental & Compliance
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. The substance prohibitance date of 05/01/2012 aligns with RoHS and REACH compliance milestones — the part is compliant with EU substance restrictions as of that date. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so no mandatory spacing gaps when grouping multiple contactors on the same DIN rail.
