Rated for AC-3 motor switching up to 690 V and 27.5 kW at 400 V at 60 °C, this contactor handles typical three-phase induction motor loads in the 30 kW class. The AC-3e maximum operating frequency of 750 switching cycles per hour is the practical limit for frequent starting — above that, the contactor's thermal capacity is the constraint, not the coil. For resistive (AC-1) duty the switching rate climbs to 1 000 1/h, and for demanding AC-4 (plugging/reversing) it drops to 250 1/h. The 110 V coil draws 6 A at 24 V and 1 A at 110 V, which matters when sizing the control transformer — the inrush is brief but the holding current is what the PLC output or relay must sustain.
Mounting and physical integration
At 45 mm wide, 85 mm high, and 107 mm deep, the S0 frame fits standard 45 mm-wide DIN-rail slots — side-by-side mounting is permitted, so multiple contactors can pack tightly on the rail. Screw terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), with AWG equivalents 2x (16 to 12) and 2x (14 to 8). The varistor surge suppressor is built in — no external snubber needed for the coil.
