SIRIUS magnet coil for size S0 contactors
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT6926-5AM01 is a replacement magnet coil designed for motor contactors in size S0, rated at 18.5 kW. It operates on AC control voltage at 220 V, 50/60 Hz, with a typical apparent power draw of 9.8 V·A. The screw terminals match the existing contactor wiring scheme — no crimp or push-in conversion needed.
Coil operating range and what it means on the line
At 50 Hz the coil holds in across 0.8 to 1.1 times rated voltage (176–242 V). At 60 Hz the range shifts slightly to 0.85–1.1 (187–242 V). That 0.05 multiplier difference at the low end matters if your control transformer sags under load on a 50 Hz plant — the coil stays pulled in down to 176 V, which is about 80 % of nominal. On a 60 Hz installation the dropout threshold is a bit higher at 187 V. Either way, the coil is sized for the same 220 V winding; the frequency just changes the impedance and thus the pickup/hold margin.
Snap-on mounting, same DIN footprint
This coil snaps onto the size S0 contactor body — no tools, no removal of the main power wiring. The screw terminals accept the same wire gauges as the contactor's control circuit (typically 2x 0.5–1.5 mm² solid or stranded). If you're swapping a failed coil on a live panel, kill the control voltage first; the spring-loaded core can pinch if the contactor is still energized.
