Panel-builder commissioning notes
The Siemens 3RT7014-1AB01 is a Size S00 contactor with a 24 V AC coil rated at 50/60 Hz. It carries three normally open main contacts for three-pole switching. The coil draws 0.8 W closing power and 0.27 W holding power at DC, so the holding circuit runs cool in a sealed panel — no forced ventilation needed for a single unit. Rated operational current is 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 1 A at 690 V — these are the AC load currents the main contacts are tested to switch under typical motor or resistive duty. Maximum rated operational voltage for AC-3 and AC-3e duty is 690 V, covering 400 V line-to-line systems with headroom.
Main and auxiliary/control circuits terminate at screw-type terminals. The main circuit accepts 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) — fine-stranded with ferrule is also supported. The auxiliary switch option is available as a product extension, so you can add a mirror contact or signal feedback without replacing the base unit. For short-circuit coordination, Type 1 requires a 35 A gL/gG NH 3NA fuse; Type 2 requires a 20 A fuse of the same class.
