Siemens 3RT7014-1AP02 — S00 Contactor, AC-3 Rated 690 V
The AC-3 rating of 750 switching operations per hour is the maximum mechanical cycling rate under full motor load — useful for frequent start-stop applications like conveyors or pumps. For the heavier AC-4 duty (plugging, inching), the maximum drops to 250 operations per hour, which governs the life when the contactor sees reverse-current braking or jogging cycles. Side-by-side mounting is allowed without derating, which simplifies multi-contactor motor starter groups in a single panel row.
Ratings and Selection
The AC-3 rated operational current at 400 V is 3 A, and at 230 V it's 6 A. For a 690 V motor circuit, the rated current drops to 1 A. This matters for panels in dusty or humid industrial settings where tracking across insulation is a real risk. The coil is AC-operated; closing power draw is 0.8 W, holding at 0.27 W. The contactor accepts screw-type wiring for 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) stranded — standard panel wire sizes.
Integration Notes
The S00 frame size (72 mm deep, 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm high) is the smallest in the SIRIUS 3RT series, so it fits tight sub-panel layouts. An auxiliary switch block can be added on the front; the product extension for auxiliary switches is supported. For short-circuit coordination, the required fuse for type 2 coordination is a gL/gG NH 3NA: 20 A; for type 1 coordination it's 35 A. The shock resistance is 9.8g for 5 ms and 5.9g for 10 ms — enough for most industrial panel vibration but not rated for continuous high-shock environments like forging presses.
