The 3RT7014-1AQ01 is a SIRIUS S00-frame contactor — the smallest in Siemens' modular contactor family, sized for motor loads up to about 3 kW at 400 V AC-3. The 3-pole main contacts are rated 6 A at 230 V and 3 A at 400 V, with a maximum operating voltage of 690 V AC-3. That means it handles fractional-horsepower pumps, small conveyors, or fan starters inside a control panel where space is tight. AC coil draws 0.8 W on pickup and 0.27 W holding. Verify control voltage type before wiring.
At 45 mm wide and 72 mm deep, it leaves room for a three-phase motor starter combination — add a thermal overload relay on the same rail and you've got a compact motor starter group. Screw terminals on both main and control circuits accept 2x 0.5–2.5 mm² solid or stranded, or 2x 0.5–1.5 mm² with ferrules. That's standard panel wire — no special crimp tools needed.
Switching duty and coordination
Rated for 750 switching cycles per hour at AC-3 (motor starting) and 250 at AC-4 (plugging/inching). That's typical for a general-purpose contactor — fine for normal start/stop duty, but if your application requires frequent jogging or reversing, check the AC-4 limit against your cycle rate. For short-circuit coordination: Type 1 requires a 35 A gG fuse (3NA), Type 2 requires 20 A. Auxiliary contacts are rated for PLC-level signals (17 V, 5 mA), so they can switch directly into a digital input without a separate interface relay — saves a component and a wiring step.
