Siemens 3RT7014-1AV02 — S00 Contactor, AC Coil, 3-Pole
Rated operational current in AC-3 duty is 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 1 A at 690 V — that's the motor-switching current for squirrel-cage motors. The AC-3 switching frequency maxes out at 750 operations per hour; for AC-4 (inching/plugging duty) it's 250 per hour, so keep that in mind if the application does frequent reversing. Coil draws 0.8 W on pickup and holds at 0.27 W DC — that's the holding power once the armature seats. The AC control voltage means you'll need to verify the coil matches your control transformer tap; no DC conversion inside this unit.
Side-by-side mounting is allowed, so no derating for zero-gap stacking. That helps when the gland plate or busbar layout forces an odd angle. Terminals are screw-type for both main and auxiliary circuits, accepting 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²) solid/stranded or 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²) with ferrules. Pollution degree 3 — suitable for control panels in industrial environments where some conductive dust is present.
Protection and Coordination
For Type 2 coordination (contactor remains fully functional after a fault), use gL/gG 20 A. Both ratings call for NH 3NA fuses.
