The Siemens 3RT7016-1AG01 is a 3-pole contactor in the S00 frame size, rated for AC-3 duty up to 690 V maximum operating voltage. The S00 frame keeps the footprint compact at 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm tall, and 72 mm deep — sized for DIN-rail enclosures where panel space is tight.
Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so multiple contactors can pack tightly on the rail without derating for proximity heat.
The AC-3 rated operating current at 400 V is 3 A, and at 230 V it is 6 A — these are the currents it can make and break under motor starting conditions (inrush up to 6-8x FLA). The main contacts are 3 NO (normally open) with no NC main contacts — standard for a motor-starting contactor. The auxiliary switch is available as a product extension, and the contact reliability is rated for PLC-level control (17 V, 5 mA), so it can drive a logic input directly without a separate interface relay.
Coil and control supply
The control supply voltage is AC type. The closing power of the magnet coil at DC is 0.8 W, and the holding power drops to 0.27 W — the lower holding power means less heat dissipated in the panel during continuous operation, which matters when contactors are ganged side-by-side. The coil can handle 50/60 Hz at 36 V rated value. The shock resistance is rated at 9.8g for 5 ms and 5.9g for 10 ms sine pulse — sufficient for most industrial machinery but worth checking if the contactor is mounted on a vibrating conveyor or press.
No last-time-buy or allocation risk is indicated.
