The AC coil pulls 0.8 W to close and holds at 0.27 W, so the control transformer sizing is straightforward. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, which keeps the rail density high when you're stacking multiple contactors in a motor control center.
The 45 mm width and 72 mm depth leave room for finger-friendly wiring — the screw terminals accept 2x 0.5 to 2.5 mm² solid or ferruled stranded.
For type 2 coordination (no welding after a short circuit), Siemens specifies a gL/gG fuse of 20 A. For type 1 coordination (welding allowed, but no fire or shock hazard), the fuse goes up to 35 A. The contactor itself is rated for a surge voltage of 6 kV and an insulation voltage of 690 V. Mechanical switching frequency tops out at 750 operations per hour under AC-3 and 250 under AC-4. Shock resistance is 9.8g for 5 ms or 5.9g for 10 ms — enough for most industrial machinery but not for high-vibration mobile equipment.
