Three main NO poles handle AC-3 duty up to 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 1 A at 690 V — so it covers small three-phase motors up to roughly 2.2 kW at 400 V. The coil draws 0.8 W on close, holding at 0.27 W DC, which keeps heat inside a crowded enclosure manageable. Mounting is screw-and-snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, with ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when the panel layout forces an odd orientation. Terminals are screw-type on both main and auxiliary circuits, accepting 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²) stranded.
Switching duty and coordination
AC-3 maximum switching frequency is 750 operations per hour; AC-4 drops to 250 per hour. For standard motor starting (AC-3), the 750 ops/h ceiling is generous for most conveyor or pump cycles. With type of coordination 1, the required upstream fuse is gL/gG NH 3NA 35 A; with type 2 coordination it's 20 A. That distinction matters for selectivity design — type 2 limits downstream damage after a fault, so the 20 A fuse is the tighter choice when the panel must survive a short without replacing the contactor.
Environmental and handling
Operating temperature range is -10 to +55 °C; storage from -25 to +70 °C. Shock resistance is 9.8g / 5 ms sine pulse on AC, adequate for most industrial vibration profiles. Dimensions are 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm tall, 72 mm deep — the 72 mm depth is the key panel clearance figure; ensure the enclosure door or backplate has that much space behind the DIN rail. The S00 frame size is the smallest in the 3RT7 series, so it fits compact subpanels where every millimeter counts.
