S2 Contactor for Motor Loads
The Siemens 3RT7037-1AG00 is a 3-pole S2-frame contactor with AC control, rated for switching motor loads up to 690 V AC-3. The screw-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²) — typical for panel wiring up to a 4 mm² feed.
The S2 footprint — 55 mm wide, 112 mm high, 115 mm deep — fits a standard 8-module-wide DIN chunk.
Switching Performance and Coil
Rated for 800 operations per hour under AC-3 (motor starting) and 250 per hour under AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC magnet coil draws 0.79 W closing and 0.36 W holding — a low hold-in power that keeps the control transformer lightly loaded on extended run cycles.
Short-Circuit Coordination and DC Ratings
For type 2 coordination (minimal damage after fault), the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 100 A; for type 1, 160 A. The DC-13 rating at 220 V is 0.3 A — useful for switching DC brake coils or solenoid valves in mixed-voltage panels. Operating temperature range is -10 to +55 °C, storage -25 to +70 °C.
