What it is and what the ratings mean
The Siemens 3RU1116-1EB0-ZX95 is a SIRIUS Size S00 thermal overload relay, a 3-pole unit with screw-type terminals for the main and auxiliary/control circuits. It provides Class 10 motor protection, meaning it will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the set current — the standard trip class for standard-start induction motors driving pumps, fans, and conveyors where the acceleration time is under about 5 seconds. The IP20 front protection means it's safe from finger contact in the panel but not for washdown environments.
Mounting and integration
Mounts directly onto a contactor (fastening method: contactor mounting) and fits the S00 footprint — 45 mm wide, 87 mm tall, 78 mm deep. The mounting position allows ±135° rotation on a vertical surface and ±45° tilt front-to-back, giving flexibility in tight enclosures. Zero clearance required upwards, forwards, backwards, and downwards; only 6 mm needed at the side. Wire range for main contacts accepts 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrule; auxiliary contacts take 2x (20…16) AWG.
