The Siemens 3RU1116-1JB0-ZX95 is a SIRIUS thermal overload relay in the Size S00 frame, designed for contactor mounting on the 3RT2 series. It provides Class 10 trip protection for three-phase motor circuits, with screw-type terminals on both the main and auxiliary/control circuits. Mounting and integration — direct-fit on 3RT2 contactors
Fastening method is contactor mounting, meaning it snaps directly onto the matching SIRIUS 3RT2 contactor without additional DIN rail space. Mounting position is flexible: vertical mounting surface with ±135° rotation and ±45° tilt to front/back, so panel layout isn't locked into a single orientation. Clearance requirements are minimal — 0 mm upwards, forwards, backwards, and downwards — with only 6 mm needed at the side. This zero-clearance design lets you pack assemblies tight on the DIN rail.
Electrical ratings and trip performance
Rated for 3-pole main current circuits with a per-pole power loss of 2.2 W. The auxiliary contact ratings cover common control voltages: 1 A at 24 V, 3 A at 120 V, 2 A at 230 V, and 1 A at 400 V.
Relative humidity during operation can reach 100 % — suitable for unconditioned enclosures. Shock resistance is rated at 8g for 10 ms, so it holds up to vibration from contactors and motor starters in the same panel.
Wiring and terminal capacity
Solid wire capacity is 2x (0.5... 1.5 mm²) and 2x (0.75... 2.5 mm²), with the same spec for finely stranded with core end processing. AWG equivalents: main contacts accept 2x (20... 16), 2x (18... 14), and 2x 12; auxiliary contacts accept 2x (20... 16) and 2x (18... 14).
