The Siemens 3RU1136-4BB0 is a SIRIUS thermal overload relay, size S2, with CLASS 10 trip protection. It mounts directly onto a contactor and has IP20 front protection.
Key ratings and what they mean for fit
The relay uses screw-type terminals for both the main current circuit and the auxiliary/control circuit. The main circuit accepts stranded wire up to 35 mm² and solid wire in the range 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) and 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²). Auxiliary contact wiring accepts AWG 20–16 and 18–14. The 3.5 W dissipation per pole is typical for this size — factor it into enclosure heat calculations if you're packing multiple relays side by side.
Mounting and environment
Mounting position is flexible: the relay can be rotated ±135° on a vertical surface or tilted ±45° forward/back. That helps when you're fitting it into a tight panel layout. Operating temperature range is -20 to +70 °C; storage and transport range is -55 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is rated at 8 g for 10 ms. The side clearance required is 6 mm; no clearance needed upwards, forwards, backwards, or downwards.
