SIRIUS thermal overload relay, CLASS 10, ATEX rated
It protects motors against overload and phase failure, with ATEX certification (DMT 98 ATEX G 001) for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Trip class and motor protection
For higher-inertia loads (flywheels, crushers) you'd step to CLASS 20 or 30; for submersible or hermetically sealed motors, CLASS 10 is typical. The relay's auxiliary contacts are rated across multiple control voltages: 3 A at 120 V AC, 2 A at 230 V AC, 1 A at 400 V AC, and 1 A at 24 V DC. That covers most PLC input and contactor coil circuits found in a standard panel.
The relay mounts directly onto the contactor — no DIN rail required. Clearances around the unit: 0 mm upwards, forwards, backwards, and downwards; only 6 mm needed at the sides. That means it can be packed tight against adjacent devices in a multi-contactor motor starter group, saving rail space. This accommodates panel layouts where the contactor bank is rotated or angled for cable entry.
Main circuit terminals accept stranded wire from 0.75 to 35 mm² (or 2× 0.75 to 25 mm²), and solid wire from 0.5 to 2.5 mm² (2×). AWG equivalents: main 2× 18 to 3, or 1× 18 to 1; aux 2× 20 to 16 or 2× 18 to 14. Screw-type terminals throughout — no spring-cage on this variant.
