The Siemens 3RU1136-4GD0 is a SIRIUS thermal overload relay in Size S2, Trip Class 10, designed to protect motors against overload and phase failure by mounting directly to a contactor. Rated for 5.2 W per pole, it handles the heat from sustained overloads without nuisance tripping in a panel environment. The front panel carries IP20 protection, meaning it's safe from accidental finger contact — standard for enclosed industrial control panels.
Fastens directly to a contactor via the contactor mounting method, eliminating the need for separate DIN-rail clips or brackets. Mounting position allows rotation of ±135° and tilt of ±45° front/back on a vertical surface, giving panel builders flexibility in tight enclosures. Dimensions are 118 mm deep, 55 mm wide, and 105 mm tall, with zero clearance needed upwards, forwards, or backwards — only 6 mm at the side for airflow. Main circuit terminals accept solid 2x (0.5...2.5 mm²) or stranded up to 2x (0.75...25 mm²) and single 0.75...35 mm²; auxiliary and control circuit uses cage clamp terminals for 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrule.
Duty and Environment
Operates from -20 to +70 °C, stores and ships from -55 to +80 °C, with 100 % relative humidity during operation — suitable for unconditioned plant floors. Surge voltage resistance rated at 6 kV, and shock resistance of 8g for 10 ms, so it holds up in vibrating machinery like conveyors or compressors.
