What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RU2116-1EC1 is a SIRIUS thermal overload relay, size S00, Class 10 trip device. Rated for use up to 690 V, with a 1.5 kW motor at 400 V and 3 kW at 690 V. The auxiliary switch is integrated, and the main circuit connects via spring-loaded terminals — no screwdriver needed for the power wires, which saves time during panel build or swap-out.
Mounting and wiring
Fastened for stand-alone installation — it does not require a contactor base. Mounting position is any orientation, so it fits tight enclosures. The spring-loaded terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. For the auxiliary circuit, a 3 mm diameter screwdriver shaft is needed for the screw terminals.
