Motor protection relay for SIRIUS contactor systems
The Siemens 3RU2116-1HB0-Z W96 is a thermal overload relay rated for motor protection in the 5.5 to 8.0 A range, with a Class 10 trip curve that clears overloads within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during stall or jam conditions without nuisance tripping on normal starting transients. Built in Size S00, it mounts directly onto the matching SIRIUS contactor, saving DIN-rail space in the panel.
RoHS compliant since October 2009, with REACH candidate-list declarations available. Export controls are AL: N / ECCN: N, so no special licensing for cross-border shipment.
When mounting on the contactor, the relay adds negligible depth behind the panel door. Screw terminals accept standard ferrule-ended conductors; torque to the manufacturer's specification for the main circuit. Multi-unit packaging ships 32 relays per pack, which suits panel builders running a batch of identical motor starters. Single-unit packaging is also available for spares or one-off replacements.
