Class 10 trip and motor protection

That's the standard for standard-start squirrel-cage motors — it lets the inrush pass during acceleration but catches a stalled rotor before the winding insulation degrades. The 3RU2116-1KB1 is a Size S00 thermal overload relay, the compact frame in the SIRIUS family. It mounts directly below an S00 contactor or stand-alone on the panel via screw terminals. The auxiliary contact set includes a normally closed (NC) and normally open (NO) pair, with the NC contact wired in series with the contactor coil for fail-safe drop-out.

Auxiliary contact ratings and signal wiring

At 230 V it's rated 2 A, and at 400 V it's 1 A. The note 'for message Tripped' means the NC contact opens when the relay trips, giving a hardwired status signal to the controller. The M3 main contact screws are standard for this frame size.

Temperature range and mounting flexibility
