CLASS 10 Trip – Motor Protection Coordination

The 3RU2136-4BD0: Trip Class CLASS 10 means the relay will trip within 10 seconds at 7.2× the current setting — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a stall or locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starting inrush. This is the typical choice for pump, fan, and conveyor drives where the acceleration time is under 10 seconds. Rated voltage is 690 V, with motor power ratings of 7.5 kW at 400 V, 11 kW at 500 V, and 15 kW at 690 V. The current ratings at 480 V and 600 V are both 20 A, giving a clean selection point for North American 480 V and 600 V systems.

Mounting and Wiring – Contactor Integration

Mounts directly onto the contactor — no separate DIN-rail footprint needed. The M6 main contact terminals accept 2× (0.5…2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. Screw-type terminals with a Pozidriv PZ 2 tip, shaft diameter 5…6 mm, make for repeatable torque without cam-out. Size S2 dimensions: 55 mm wide, 90 mm high, 105 mm deep. Fits any mounting position; temperature compensation is active from -40 to +60 °C, so the trip curve stays accurate across the panel ambient range.

Auxiliary Contact Ratings – Control Circuit Sizing

The integrated auxiliary switch provides a 'Tripped' signal contact rated at 2 A at 24 V, 3 A at 120 V, 2 A at 230 V, 1 A at 400 V, and 0.75 A at 690 V. For DC control: 0.3 A at 60 V, 0.22 A at 110/125 V, and 0.11 A at 220 V. These cover most PLC input and relay coil loads directly.
