The 3RU2146-4JB0: Mounts directly to the contactor via the M8 fastening method — no DIN-rail bracket needed, so the relay and contactor form a single unit that slides onto the rail as one assembly. Any mounting position is permitted. Main circuit connections are screw-type terminals accepting 2x (2.5…16 mm²) solid or 2x (6…16 mm²) stranded, with larger options up to 1x 70 mm² stranded. The control circuit uses 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²) stranded.
Thermal and environmental limits
The relay compensates for ambient temperature changes between -40 and +60 °C, so the trip curve stays accurate across a heated panel or cold warehouse. Power dissipation per pole is 5.7 W — factor that into panel thermal calculations when grouping multiple relays.
The auxiliary contacts (the Note for message "Tripped" circuit) carry rated switching currents across common control voltages: 2 A at 24 V, 3 A at 120 V, 2 A at 230 V, 1 A at 400 V, and 0.75 A at 690 V. At lower DC control voltages the ratings are 0.3 A at 60 V, 0.22 A at 110 V and 125 V, and 0.11 A at 220 V.
