Thermal overload relay for S2 contactors
The Siemens 3RU5136-4EB0 is a SIRIUS thermal overload relay with an adjustable current response range of 22 to 32 A, Trip Class 10, and a rated operational current of 32 A at 690 V. It mounts directly onto S2-size contactors (Siemens SIRIUS series) via the contactor-mounting fastening method, saving DIN-rail space and reducing wiring. The 3-pole design uses screw-type terminals for both main and auxiliary circuits, accepting solid or stranded wire up to 2x (0.75... 2.5 mm²) for the main circuit and 2x (20... 16) AWG for auxiliary contacts.
The adjustable overload release (22-32 A) lets you dial in the exact motor FLA without swapping parts — set it to the motor nameplate current. The 50/60 Hz operating frequency means it works on either line frequency. The 6 kV surge voltage resistance (rated) ensures the relay holds up to transients common in industrial panels.
Mounts directly to S2 contactors (Siemens SIRIUS series) — no DIN rail required for the relay itself, though the contactor may be DIN-rail or panel-mounted. The mounting position allows vertical surface mounting with ±135° rotation and ±45° tilt front/back, giving flexibility in tight enclosures. Dimensions: 118 mm deep, 55 mm wide, 105 mm high. Side spacing to grounded parts: 6 mm minimum. Terminal torque for main contacts: 3-5 N·m. Ambient operating temperature: -20 to +70 °C; storage/transport: -55 to +80 °C. Relative humidity 0-100% permissible during operation.
The relay carries a substance prohibition date of 07/01/2006 (RoHS compliance reference). Shock resistance per IEC 60068-2-27: 8g / 10 ms. Insulation voltage 690 V AC at pollution degree 3. Short-circuit protection for the auxiliary switch: fuse gL/gG 6 A or quick 10 A. The product is part of the Siemens SIRIUS family, which holds UL, CSA, CE, and other international approvals (not individually listed in this record, but standard for the series).
