It provides Class 10 motor protection, tripping within 10 seconds at locked-rotor condition. It mounts directly onto a SIRIUS S2 contactor (e.g., 3RT1036) via the contactor-mounting fastening method, saving panel space and eliminating separate wiring between the contactor and overload.
The 50 A rated operational current (Ie) at 690 V covers most 22–30 kW motor loads on a 400 V supply. The adjustable current range of 40–50 A lets you fine-tune the trip point to the motor nameplate FLA — a critical step for coordination with upstream MCCBs or fuses. This is low enough that no forced cooling is needed in a standard IP54 enclosure, but it should be factored into the panel thermal budget — especially if multiple relays are ganged side-by-side.
It can be rotated ±135° on a vertical mounting surface or tilted ±45° front-to-back, giving flexibility in tight enclosures. Side spacing of 6 mm to grounded parts is required for heat dissipation and clearance. Dimensions are 55 mm wide, 105 mm high, and 118 mm deep. The main circuit connections accept 2×(0.5–1.5 mm²) solid/stranded or 2×(0.75–2.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrules. The auxiliary contact circuit is rated for 1 A at 24 V, 0.22 A at 110 V, and 2 A at 230 V — sufficient for signaling to a PLC input or a contactor coil. Short-circuit protection for the auxiliary switch requires a gL/gG 6 A fuse or a quick-acting 10 A fuse.
The relay is designed to IEC/EN 60947-4-1 for electromechanical contactors and motor-starters, and carries the usual Siemens CE/UKCA markings for European markets.
