Siemens SIRIUS 3RU6116-0EB0 — Thermal Overload Relay, 0.28–0.40 A, Class 10
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RU6116-0EB0 is a thermal overload relay sized for motor protection in the 0.28–0.40 A range, Trip Class 10, designed to mount directly onto S00-frame contactors. The adjustable current response value (0.28–0.40 A) lets you dial in the exact full-load current of the motor being protected — Class 10 means it trips within 10 seconds at 7.2× the set current, fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starts.
Fit and integration — S00 contactor mounting, any position
This relay snaps onto S00-frame Siemens contactors (company-specific size S00), sharing the same DIN-rail footprint. The 45 mm width and 70 mm depth keep the assembly compact; side clearance of 6 mm to grounded parts is all that's needed for heat dissipation. Screw-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept 2× (0.5–1.5 mm²) solid/stranded or 2× (0.75–2.5 mm²) with ferrules, with a tightening torque of 0.8–1.2 N·m on the main contacts.
The 0.28–0.40 A adjustable range covers small motors — fractional-horsepower pumps, fans, or conveyor drives on 400/480 V systems. The 690 V rated operating voltage and 6 kV surge voltage resistance (rated impulse withstand) mean it's suitable for 400 VAC three-phase networks with adequate clearance for transient overvoltages.
