What this relay does and how it fits
The Siemens 3RU6116-1FB0 is a SIRIUS thermal overload relay sized for motor protection in a 3.5 to 5 A adjustable range, Trip Class 10. It mounts directly onto S00-frame contactors — no DIN-rail space needed, just snap it onto the contactor and wire the main circuit through its screw-type terminals top and bottom.
The 3.5 to 5 A adjustable current-response value means you set the trip point to match the motor full-load amps within that window — no swapping heaters. Class 10 trip gives a 10-second maximum lock-rotor time at 7.2× Ie, which protects standard IEC motors without nuisance tripping on start.
Terminals and wiring
Main circuit terminals are screw-type, top and bottom, accepting 2× (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2× (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded copper. Torque them to 0.8 to 1.2 N·m — enough for a solid connection without stripping the head. Auxiliary and control circuit terminals are also screw-type, same wire ranges.
Environmental and installation limits
Mount it in any position, but leave 6 mm clearance to grounded parts on the side for heat dissipation.
