7–10 A adjustable range — the only setting that matters
The 3RU6116-1JB0 is a thermal bimetallic overload relay with an adjustable current response range of 7 to 10 A. That range sets the motor FLA it protects — set the dial to match the nameplate, and the Class 10 trip curve clears the start transient without nuisance tripping on most standard induction motors up to about 4 kW at 400 V. Rated operational current is 10 A at 690 V, 50/60 Hz.
S00 frame — mounts on the contactor, not the rail
This relay is designed for direct contactor mounting onto the SIRIUS S00 frame size. It does not clip onto a DIN rail standalone — it snaps onto the front of the matching contactor, so the panel layout must account for the contactor footprint first. Tightening torque is 0.8...1.2 N·m — use a torque driver, not feel, because the terminal block is thermoplastic and overtightening strips the thread.
Active production, current lifecycle
RoHS compliance date is 05/01/2012, meaning it meets the EU RoHS substance restrictions from that date onward. No UL or CSA listing appears in the spec record — confirm with the manufacturer for site-specific approval requirements.
Relative humidity during operation up to 90%. Installation altitude max 2,000 m — above that, derate the current per IEC 60947 derating rules. Shock resistance is 8 g for 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27. Mounting position is any, which simplifies panel layout. Required spacing to grounded parts at the side is 6 mm — tight, but not zero; maintain that gap for creepage and cooling.
