The Siemens 3RU7136-4EB0 is a SIRIUS thermal overload relay in size S2, rated for 32 A operational current and 690 V AC/DC. It provides Class 10 motor protection.
Integration notes
Fastens to a SIRIUS S2 contactor via the contactor mounting method — no additional bracket needed. The relay can be rotated ±135° on a vertical mounting surface or tilted ±45° front-to-back, giving flexibility in tight enclosures. Screw terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept 2× (0.5…1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2× (0.75…2.5 mm²) with ferrules. Torque the main contacts to 3…4.5 N·m and the auxiliary contacts to 0.8…1.2 N·m. The front face is IP20; the terminal area is IP00, so maintain at least 6 mm spacing to grounded parts at the side.
Ratings and approvals
Rated operational current is 32 A for the main circuit, with a total typical power loss of 13.8 W at rated current in hot operating state. The auxiliary contacts handle 3 A at 24 V and 2 A at 230 V AC, plus 1 A at 24 V DC-13. Surge voltage resistance is 6 kV, with an insulation voltage of 690 V at pollution degree 3. Operating temperature range is -20 to +55 °C; storage/transport range is -25 to +70 °C. The relay is shock-resistant to 8 g / 10 ms per IEC 60068-2-27 and can be installed at altitudes up to 2000 m. Humidity tolerance is 0…90 % RH non-condensing. The design is a thermal bimetallic release — no electronic settings to fail.
