What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV1011-0BA25 is a SIRIUS motor-protective circuit breaker, designed to protect motor circuits against overload and short-circuit. Its 0.2 A continuous current rating and CLASS 10 trip class mean it's sized for small fractional-horsepower motors — the CLASS 10 trip curve clears an overload within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current, matching the thermal time constant of a standard induction motor. It carries a 100 kA breaking capacity across the full AC voltage range (240 V through 690 V), so it can safely interrupt high-fault currents without upstream fuses in most panel designs. Phase failure detection is built in — if one phase drops, the breaker trips, preventing single-phasing damage to the motor.
Panel integration and mounting
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 90 mm height fit a standard 4-module footprint; depth is 81 mm, which clears most shallow enclosures. Spring-loaded terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire — no lug torque check needed, just strip and push. IP20 on the front face means it's protected against finger contact but not washdown — keep it inside a closed panel. Any mounting position is allowed, which helps when you're cramming gear into a tight gland plate layout.
