Motor-protection circuit breaker for Class 10 trip and 100 kA SCCR
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1011-0CA10-ZW97 is a motor-protection circuit breaker designed to guard three-phase induction motors against overload, short-circuit, and phase failure. Its Class 10 trip characteristic means it will open within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting, protecting standard IEC motors during locked-rotor starts without nuisance tripping on normal acceleration. Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V AC, 500 V AC, and 690 V AC — enough to handle high-fault utility feeds in industrial panels. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost line on the supply side will trip the breaker before the motor single-phases to destruction.
DIN-rail footprint and panel integration
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. Dimensions are 45 mm wide, 90 mm high, 75 mm deep — a standard 2-module width that fits a typical motor starter lineup. Clearance: 20 mm above and below, 9 mm to the side, zero forward or backward. Any mounting position is allowed. Screw-type terminals on the main current circuit accept 2× (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2× (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded copper. Terminal screws are M3 for the main contacts.
Thermal environment and storage
Operating ambient range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. The wide storage band matters for spares held in unheated warehouses or shipped through extreme climates.
