What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV1011-0CA10-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor-protective circuit breaker designed for motor branch-circuit protection. It combines a Class 10 trip curve with phase failure detection, so it clears a locked-rotor condition before the motor winding exceeds its thermal limit while also catching a lost phase that would single-phase a three-phase motor. Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V AC — that's enough to interrupt a high-fault bolted short without upstream fuses having to clear it first, which simplifies selectivity coordination in a distribution panel. Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The 45 mm width and 75 mm depth leave room alongside contactors in a standard motor starter stack. Any mounting position is allowed, so it fits tight enclosures where vertical or horizontal orientation is the only option.
Integration notes
Screw-type terminals on the main current circuit accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. Terminal screws are M3 for the main contacts. No special tooling needed beyond a standard screwdriver. Clearance requirements: 20 mm upwards and downwards, 9 mm at the sides, zero forwards or backwards. That's tight enough to pack multiple units side-by-side in a multi-motor panel without oversized gutters. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. The wide storage span means it can sit in an unheated warehouse or truck without damage.
