What it is and what the ratings mean
The Siemens 3RV1011-0DA15-ZI45 is a motor protection circuit breaker in the SIRIUS 3RV1 series, size S00 — the smallest frame in the family, sized for fractional-horsepower motors and control transformers up to about 0.12 kW at 400 V. The Class 10 trip curve means it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting, fast enough to protect a standard induction motor during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal start-up. The thermal A-release is adjustable from 0.22 to 0.32 A; the magnetic N-release (short-circuit) is fixed at 4.2 A. That 0.22–0.32 A band covers small fan, pump, and conveyor motors in the sub-0.1 kW range — a niche size that is easy to overlook on a BOM. The built-in transverse auxiliary switch (1 NO + 1 NC) gives you a remote status signal without adding a separate block, saving a DIN-rail slot.
Deployment context
Size S00 snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail and fits standard 45 mm wide panel cutouts. The screw terminals accept 0.5–4 mm² wire; the auxiliary contacts share the same terminal pitch, so the wiring layout stays clean. Use it in a motor control center (MCC) bucket or a standalone starter combination with a contactor — the 3RV1 series is designed to mate directly with Siemens 3RT2 contactors for a compact, pre-wired motor starter assembly.
