What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV1011-0EA10 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed specifically for motor protection duty, with a Class 10 trip characteristic that clears overloads within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during stall or jam conditions. Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V AC (and at 240 V, 500 V, and 690 V as well), meaning it can safely interrupt a bolted fault up to that level without upstream fuses — useful for high-fault panels where SCCR coordination matters. It includes phase failure detection, so a lost phase on a three-phase motor triggers a trip rather than letting the motor single-phase and overheat.
Panel fit and mounting
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 — the same rail as every other SIRIUS 3RV1 breaker, so it drops into an existing panel layout without drilling or adapter plates. Footprint is 45 mm wide × 90 mm high × 75 mm deep, with 20 mm clearance needed above and below, 9 mm to the side, and zero forward or backward clearance required — tight-panel friendly. Main circuit connections use screw-type terminals accepting 2×(0.5…1.5 mm²) or 2×(0.75…2.5 mm²) solid or stranded — standard M3 screws, no special tooling. Mounting position is any orientation; operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C, storage and transport -50 to +80 °C.
