Motor protection circuit breaker, 0.4 A, CLASS 10, 100 kA
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1011-0EA10-0FJ0-ZX95 is a motor protection circuit breaker rated for 0.4 A continuous current with a CLASS 10 trip characteristic. Breaking capacity is a flat 100 kA across the board — at 240 V, 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V — so it handles high-fault-current panels without cascading upstream breakers, provided the SCCR of the panel is coordinated to that level. Phase failure detection is built in, so a single-phased motor sees a trip before the winding overheats. No ground fault detection on this variant — if that's required, step up to the 3RV20 series or add an external RCD.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. The 45 mm width takes one standard modular slot; depth is 81 mm, height 90 mm. No clearance needed at the sides or rear — zero mm backwards and side clearance — so it packs tight against adjacent devices. Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2× (0.5…1.5 mm²) solid or 2× (0.75…2.5 mm²) stranded, with AWG equivalents 2× (18…14). Auxiliary switch option is present but no auxiliary contacts are fitted as standard — order the separate auxiliary switch block if needed. Front face is IP20 — finger-safe for panel installation but not for washdown environments. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport handle -50 to +80 °C. Shock rated at 25g / 11 ms, good for machine-mounted applications with moderate vibration.
Mechanical endurance and power loss
Main contacts are rated for 100,000 typical mechanical operations. Power dissipation at AC in hot operating state is 5.5 W total, or 1.8 W per pole. Maximum switching rate at AC-3 duty is 15 operations per hour. Surge voltage resistance is 6,000 V, and maximum operating altitude is 2,000 m.
