The Siemens 3RV1011-0EA10-ZW96 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed for motor protection, with screw-type terminals and phase failure detection. It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any orientation. The 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC means it can safely interrupt high fault currents on a 400 V line without upstream fuses — a key spec for panel builders sizing the branch circuit.
Trip class and thermal-magnetic curve
Trip Class 10 means the breaker trips within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — standard for standard-capability motor starting where the inrush clears before the curve catches it. The thermal element protects against sustained overload; the magnetic element handles short-circuit. Phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase on a three-phase motor will trip the breaker rather than letting the motor single-phase and overheat.
Mounting and wiring
The 45 mm width (three module spaces on a DIN rail) and 75 mm depth fit standard distribution panels. Screw terminals accept 2×(0.5…1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2×(0.75…2.5 mm²) — fine for motor branch circuits up to the rated current. Clearance: 20 mm upwards and downwards, 9 mm at the side, 0 mm forwards and backwards. No additional clearance required at 240 V, 400 V, 500 V, or 690 V.
