The Siemens 3RV1011-0EA10-ZW98 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker with Class 10 trip characteristic. Breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V AC, so it can interrupt a bolted fault up to that level without the upstream breaker needing to clear it. That 100 kA rating holds at 240 V, 500 V, and 690 V as well — a single rating across the common industrial voltages. Phase failure detection is built in — if one line drops, the breaker opens before the motor single-phases to failure. No ground-fault detection on this variant, so that's handled separately if the application requires it.
Panel Fit and Mounting
Width is 45 mm — three 9 mm pole pitches — so it occupies a standard 45 mm slot on a DIN rail. Depth is 75 mm, height 90 mm. Mounting is screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715; mounting position is any, so it can go sideways or upside-down if the panel layout demands it. Clearance requirements: 20 mm upwards, 20 mm downwards, 9 mm to the side, zero forwards or backwards. That's tight enough to pack breakers side-by-side without worrying about arc flash gaps — just the 9 mm side clearance. Terminals are M3 screw-type for the main circuit, accepting 2×(0.5…1.5 mm²) or 2×(0.75…2.5 mm²) solid or stranded. No special tools needed beyond a standard screwdriver.
