The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV1011-0FA10-ZW98 is a motor protection circuit breaker designed for the 20 to 690 V range, with a Trip Class 10 characteristic that matches standard induction motor starting profiles — it allows the inrush to pass without nuisance tripping while protecting against sustained overloads and short circuits. The 100 kA breaking capacity at 400 V (and at 240 V, 500 V, and 690 V) means this device can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without cascading upstream, which is the figure that governs panel SCCR coordination. Phase failure detection is built in, so a single-phased motor sees a trip rather than a burn-out.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, in any orientation. The 45 mm width (three module spaces) and 75 mm depth fit standard panel layouts. Screw-type terminals on the main current circuit accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²). The M3 terminal screws for the main contacts are sized for control wiring. Clearance requirements: 20 mm upwards and downwards, 9 mm at the sides, zero forwards and backwards — tight panel packing is possible.
