What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV1011-0HA20 is a SIRIUS motor-protective circuit breaker rated for 0.8 A continuous current with Trip Class 10 thermal overload protection. It breaks up to 100 kA at 400 V AC, covering the full voltage range up to 690 V AC at the same interrupting rating. Three poles handle the main motor circuit; phase failure detection is built in, so a lost phase trips the breaker before the motor cooks. Class 10 means the bimetal trip curve opens within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current — fast enough for standard induction motor starts without nuisance tripping on normal acceleration. The 0.8 A rating corresponds to roughly 0.18 kW at 400 V three-phase, so this is sized for fractional-horsepower motors: small conveyors, fan drives, pump auxiliaries.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. The 45 mm width eats one standard DIN module; depth is 81 mm, height 90 mm. Zero clearance needed at the back or sides — no ventilation gap required, so it packs tight in a panel. Spring-loaded terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits accept 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.25 to 1.5 mm²) finely stranded with ferrule. AWG equivalent is 2x (24 to 14). The IP20 finger-safe front cover protects against accidental contact in an open panel.
Breaking capacity and coordination
Rated short-circuit breaking capacity is 100 kA at 240 V, 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V AC — flat across the voltage band. That gives generous SCCR headroom for most industrial distribution panels; the breaker can clear a fault without upstream fuse assistance in high-fault installations. Power dissipation is 5.5 W total in hot operating state, or 1.8 W per pole. That matters for enclosure thermal rise calculations when grouping several breakers in a small cabinet.
Environmental and lifecycle
Current production — the lifecycle stage is listed as active. Operating temperature range is -20 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -50 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 25 g for 11 ms. Mounting position is any, so it works in horizontal or vertical bus runs. RoHS compliance date is 01.01.2013, covering the EU substance prohibitions. The auxiliary switch extension option is supported, so you can add a signal contact for remote status monitoring.
