What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV1011-0JA10-ZW96 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed to protect three-phase induction motors against overload and short circuit. Its Trip Class 10 means it trips within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect standard motors during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starts. The 100 kA interrupting capacity at 400 V (and at 690 V) means it can safely clear a bolted fault on a high-capacity distribution board without upstream fuses needing to coordinate down to a lower let-through.
Mounting and panel fit
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. At 45 mm wide and 90 mm tall, it occupies a single module slot in a standard enclosure. The 75 mm depth leaves clearance for wiring behind the gland plate — no forced spacing needed. Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2×(0.5–1.5 mm²) or 2×(0.75–2.5 mm²) solid or stranded copper, so it ties into existing panel wiring without terminal-block adapters. Mounting position is any, which simplifies layout in a crowded cabinet.
