What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RV1011-0JA10-ZX95 is a SIRIUS motor protection circuit breaker designed for motor protection. It combines a circuit breaker and overload relay in one 45 mm wide package that snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The Class 10 trip characteristic means it disconnects within 10 seconds at 7.2× the thermal setting — fast enough to protect standard induction motors during a locked-rotor event without nuisance tripping on normal starts. Rated breaking capacity hits 100 kA at 400 V AC, so it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without cascading upstream. That SCCR covers most industrial distribution panels fed by a typical 100 kA-rated transformer. Phase failure detection is built in — if one phase drops, the breaker trips to prevent single-phasing motor damage.
Mounting and integration
Mounts in any position via screw or snap-on onto standard 35 mm DIN rail. The 45 mm width and 75 mm depth fit a compact panel layout — two units side by side consume 90 mm of rail. Clearance requirements: 20 mm above and below, 9 mm to the side, zero forward or backward. Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2× (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2× (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, torqued to M3.
